Creating banners, whether it is for business or personal life, is fairly easy to do with Photoshop and a few simple tools. Creating a great banner can be done in a short amount of time with a little patience and preparation.

The first thing to do is to open the Photoshop program, click on new page, set the desired height and width of the banner, a good size to start with may be 780 x 120, it can be larger or smaller depending on your project. The next step is to name the project, then select the image you want to use. The imported images can be from clip art (you can find great free clip art on Google images), or images found on the computer. Select the image and use the mouse tool to drag and drop the image where you want it. You can also use the magic wand tool to crop the edges of the photo as you wish.

The next thing to do is to place text in your banner if you wish, or you can add custom text by clicking on text layer and then clicking on the blending option. The next step
is to change the background color if needed. Click on the paint bucket tool then click on the canvas with the mouse. For the inside color you can create a new layer and name it, then enter the size maybe something like 760 x 100 for example, then click on the rectangular marquee tool . Next fill in the color with the paint brush tool.

The next thing that can be done is the logo creation, create a new layer, name it and click on the custom shape tool, then click on ornaments and drag and drop it where you like. Lines can also be created if this is for a business, the logo can be enclosed inside of a box with text. That is the simplest way to create banners for any occasion. This is very basic and more advanced elements can be added for experienced users but to start the banner these are the basic tools. Creating anything on Photoshop consist of utilizing a few basic tools, and many layers and backgrounds can be created simply by clicking on create new layer and putting in a size and clicking on the banner and voila it is done.
